Frequently Asked Questions

1. How often should I have my air conditioner serviced?

   - It is recommended to have your air conditioner serviced at least twice a year. Ideally, it should be done before the summer and winter seasons begin to ensure optimal performance.

2. What does an air conditioning service involve?

   - An air conditioning service typically involves cleaning or replacing the air filters, checking and tightening electrical connections,  checking all electrical components, inspecting and cleaning the condenser and evaporator coils, checking refrigerant levels, lubricating moving parts, testing the system for proper operation and flushing the condensate drain lines.

3. How can I improve the efficiency of my air conditioner?

   - To improve the efficiency of your air conditioner, you can:

     - Clean or replace air filters regularly.

     - Keep the outdoor unit free from debris and vegetation.

     - Ensure proper insulation and sealing of windows and doors.

     - Use a programmable thermostat to regulate temperature.

     - Consider installing ceiling fans to help circulate cool air.

4. Why is my air conditioner not cooling properly?

   - There could be several reasons for your air conditioner not cooling properly. Some common issues include a dirty air filter, low refrigerant levels, a malfunctioning compressor, faulty thermostat or internal parts.

5. How often should I clean or replace the air filters?

   - The air filters should be cleaned or replaced every 1 to 3 months, depending on the manufacturer's recommendations and the level of dust and dirt in your home. Clogged filters can restrict airflow and reduce cooling efficiency and potentially damage the compressor.

6. Can I perform air conditioning maintenance myself?

   - While some maintenance tasks like cleaning or replacing air filters can be done by homeowners, it is recommended to have us perform a comprehensive maintenance service. We have the expertise and equipment to identify and address any potential issues.

7. How long does an air conditioner typically last?

   - The average lifespan of an air conditioner is around 10 to 15 years. Regular maintenance and proper usage can help extend its lifespan.

8. Why is my air conditioner making strange noises?

   - Strange noises from an air conditioner could indicate various issues such as loose parts, a malfunctioning motor, or a refrigerant leak. It is best to contact us to diagnose and fix the problem to prevent further damage.
